Three Types Of Gifts In The Holy Bible

There are three types of gifts in bible:

Spiritual gift, gift of salvation, common gift

1. Spiritual Gift

The greatest spiritual gifts are the apostles, the second the prophets, and the least the tongues.

1 Cor 12:28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.

12:31 But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.

The function of spiritual gifts is to edify others, and to edify the church, and not to edify ourselves. For example, prophesying to others is not to yourself. if only One person alone, he need not prophesy.

For example, the apostolic gift, which is not the judgment of receiving the holy spirit. The apostle judas received no holy spirit. The apostle Peter also received no holy spirit before Pentecost. The prophet Moses did not receive the holy spirit. And David the prophet did not receive the holy spirit. Speaking in tongues, like the sound of the wind, is the least spiritual gift in the church because it is incomprehensible to others.

In the church it is better to be a prophet and speak five words that teach, than ten thousand words in UNKNOWN tongue. Look at the premise: in the church.

Speaking in tongues is of little use in church. Look at the premises.

In the church it is useless for people who are spiritual gifts to speak in tongues because they are not understood. Look at the premise, the role of speaking tongue in the church as a spiritual gift. It's not that the air isn't useful, it's that the air isn't useful when you're diving.

2. Gift of Salvation

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We can enter the eternal life because of the gift of God. This is gift of salvation instead of spiritual gift to edify church.

Living water baptism to wash our sin aways is a gift of salvation.

To receive the holy spirit is the gift of salvation.

Speaking in tongues to ourselves is the gift of salvation, the only proof that we have received the Holy Spirit, and that we pray with the spirit, praying in truth, Jesus praying for us at the right hand of the Father, and the Holy Spirit praying for us with groans .

Rom 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

8:34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

3. Common Gift

For example, love is a common gift.

For example, the sun and rain are the gifts of God.

Paul said,

1 Cor 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.

That means love is not a spiritual gift. For example, God makes the sun shine on the bad and the good. Sun is not a gift of salvation.
