Five Spiritual Gifts In The Church — Prophet

For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21 NIV)

For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. (1 Corinthians 14:31 NIV)

We should eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy to build church up.

Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good.

There are true prophets and also false prophets. The prophets of the false prophets are not fulfilled, or are fulfilled but not consistent with the Bible. God gives some people the gift of distinguishing the Spirit that some people can distinguish whether the spirit is out of God.

Paul distinguished the sorcerer and blamed him in the name of Jesus that he went to blind for three days, not even able to see the light of the sun. Peter rebuked Ananias that they died on the spot and rebuked the Simon in Samaria, drove out the evil that stop the destruction of the devil in the church. Paul rebuked Peter to stop him from doing wrong so that the truth of the Gospel remains among the brothers and sisters.
