Distinguishing Between The True And The False Way

First, thank God, let us tell the truth:

1. The truth is pure.

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine. (Titus 2:1)

2. The truth is full.

Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:(Colossians 1:25-26)

3. The truth is in full accordance with the Bible.

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets.(Acts 24:14)

4. The truth of the gospel can be fully known.

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.(2 Timothy 4:17)

5. The truth was delivered once.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (Jude 1:3)

6. The truth will not miss anything.

Seek ye out of the book of the Lord , and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. (Isaiah 34:16)

7. The truth has a certain scale.

The scale of the pure words that you hear from me, to be used in the faith and love of Christ Jesus, are always guarded. (2 Timothy 1:13)

8. The truth of the gospel is the common faith.

To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. (Titus 1:4)

9. The truth is with nothing wrong.

I pointed to the faithful God and said that the words we have told you are not right and wrong. Because I and Silas and Timothy, the Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is among you, and there is nothing wrong with it. There is only one in him. (2 Corinthians 1:18-19)

10. The truth has no contradiction between the Bible, the truth is no change, no increase, no deletion and no modification.

God's words and sentences are refining; he trusts him and he acts as their shield. His words, you can't add, I am afraid that he will blame you, you will be liar. (Proverbs 30:5-6)

Second, let’s talk about the false way:

1. God hates all false way.

Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. (Psalm 119:104)

2. The false prophet who preached the false way, the ending is the pain of hell forever.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Revelation 19:20)

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20:10)

3. The false teachers of the false way, the ending is destruction.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2 Peter 2:1)

4. The false way does not conform to the Bible, and there is no biblical basis.

If anyone passes a pagan, he does not obey the pure words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the principles of godliness (1 Timothy 6:3).

Brethren, I will turn these things for myself and Apollo for your sake, so that you can follow the example of the Bible (1 Corinthians 4:6).

5. The false way is to add, take away and modify the words of Bible.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19)

6. The false way partly is in accordance with the Bible and partly contradicts the Bible.

Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. (Isaiah 34:16)

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: . . . . But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. (Isaiah 28:10, 13)

7. The false way is cursed which is different from Peter and Paul’ preaching.

I am amazed that you have left so quickly by the grace of Christ to go from other gospels. That is not the gospel, but some people are bothering you to change the gospel of Christ. But whether we are the messengers of heaven, if you preach the gospel to you, different from what we have passed to you, he should be cursed. We have already said, and now it is said that if someone preaches the gospel to you, unlike what you have received, he should be cursed. (Galatians 1:6-9)
